    Hello everyone,

I have been looking around the internet for hours now with no luck for anyone who have successfully replaced their X61s thinkpad's display with an IPS one or similar technology, what I would like to now is:

-First of all, is there even an LCD around that can fit gracefully into the X61s' cover? I say gracefully because I read somewhere that the X61 Tablet's display can be fitted into the X61s mind you with some compromise as it seems, though I could be wrong about this so please correct me if you know something.

-What am looking for is a high quality XGA display and not an SXGA, does this make it any easier to achieve?

-..... I guess that's it, any help is appreciated.

    welcome to the forum!

it's not an easy mod by any means but it has been done before...

the XGA mod is just as difficult as the same amount of physical modifications are necessary.   the only difference is that the XGA panel doesn't need a special BIOS to drive the display.
