i am going away to college soon, looking to save the space and trouble of bringing down a big, bulky tv. does anyone know if it is possible to project my ps3 image onto my laptop's lcd?

To my knowledge there's only one way to do it and that's through a TV tuner. However, the lagtime between what happens on the PS3 and what displays on the monitor will be significant enough that most games won't be playable.

It's possible using the method Echothedolphin stated, but the outcome won't be great.

what about a Desktop LCD with HDMI? you could use it for both, and they don't take up as much room as a TV(old ones that is)

You could get a firewire-based video input adapter like Canopus. But that's a lot of dough.

There was a device a while back called "gamebridge" that did just that, check it out.
