is my lenovo y50 supposed to function like this

I have a lenovo y50 fhd 8gb ram i7 processor 1tb sshd.
recently i played the game nfs most wanted 2012 with low settings and its fps kept dropping to 20 i launched the game with nvidia experience and my drivers are up to date. is this supposed to happen? on YouTube i saw a laptop with same specs running bf4 at high settings his fps was around 40.
if i play with high settings ulta high or nvidia optimized the fps drops at random intervals the in game music gliches a bit.
i fear by downloading many pc optimization software i have done something to the PC.
i use a cooling pad while gaming but also why this fps drop even at low settings ? where am i going wrong where is it bottlenecking ?
The boot time is 38 seconds im afraid i have to reformat the entire system and reinstall windows any help would be appreciated

 

Does this happen on other games?
Are you plugged in?
Double check that you're using the nvidia gpu and not the integrated one.

You said it wasn't all ways like this? If not, what did you change? Have you tried system restore?

 

it happens on goat simulator too yes i play games while plugged in.
i double checked
i changed a lot things registry etc i actually performed system restore to a state before the changes were applied its occurring after the restore

 

i just want to get a second opinion before i do a clean install of windows iff by any chance there is an easier way

 

A lot of "pc optimisation" software is borderline malware, and most don't really do much at all other than take up a lot of system resources with background processes that don't do much more than a defrag / reg clean / delete temp files (which CCleaner does, for free, with no resource hogging)

even uninstalling the things wont always actually get rid of them

 

Is your power setting on power saver?

You could try the one-key recovery, though that's pretty much a factory reset. Personally, I prefer doing the clean install since I don't like manually uninstalling everything.

 

well i got to know the hard way it was really stupid of me to install all those things on a new machine

 

power setting is on high performance
well upon googling its not just me almost every other y50 has the same problems regardless of using any other software its due to the bloatware which comes preinstalled .......
i just did a windows reinstall without losing my data this also doesn't improve my laptop i still face high temp at normal use long boot times and crappy fps...
So finnaly i have decided to do a complete and clean install of windows.

 

Ok so i had to do a clean install because for some reason explorer.exe was crashing frequently my games are working like how they are meant to work on a 860m
