Today I ordered my T43p on the phone and I was asked to give the my credit number and the three digits on the back of the card.
It is my first time purchasing something on the phone so I am wondering whether the sales representative will abuse my information and just use my card to purchase something?
By the way, the configuration of the machine is the following for $1500, is it a good deal?
Intel® Pentium® M Processor 760 (2GHz)[2]
Genuine Windows® XP Professional
Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG, Bluetooth[14]
1GB DDR2 SDRAM memory[3]
80GB 5400rpm hard drive[4]
6.10lbs., (W)12.2" x (D)10" x (H)1"
15.0" UXGA TFT (1600x1200) display

Integrated Fingerprint Reader
128MB ATI Mobility FireGL V3200 graphics

I assume the 15" Flexview screen and price are the main reasons why you picked this notebook config? Personally, I don't think you should be paying $1500 for a laptop with Pentium M processor right now, especially since core 2 duo is out.

geforcewong: Yes the guess is right. How do you like the 15" Flexview? and How much did you pay for your laptop? The laptop I ordered also comes with a three year warranty.
I believe a 2G cpu is more than enough for my daily usage so I opted for the lower price. -
My Laptop w/ 256 MB stock RAM = $1765 after taxes (CA) and shipping
Newegg 2 GB RAM = $186 after taxes (CA) and shipping - $8 rebate => $178
So I paid $1943 for my current setup... -

A sales rep would have to be pretty dumb to do this. As long as you monitor your credit card statements for suspicious activity, you should be fine. If anything odd is reported, you can take legal action with the police since this would be a criminal activity. The sales rep should not do this because of how obvious it would be of who stole the number. -

how do you like the flexview screen?
Does this price $1765 come with 3 year warranty? -
-
Yes, from Lenovo. The price on the website is $1499 but when I purchase it, the sales rep told me it was $1399 so I saved a hunder dollars.

The FlexView is the best matte screen available in my opinion.
is that safe transaction?
