i'm still undecided on whether to get a T431s or a T430s, actually i like X1 Carbon a lot, but crossed it out after seeing its screen in a retail store. i couldnt find any T430/s with 1600*900 screen anywhere in stores so i cant compare them side by side.

after readig on forums i see a lot people are complaining the screen door effect (the high dot pitch problem) on X1 carbon, and see fewer complains on T430/s, and according to users' opinions on this forum, the T series screen started to have obvious screen door effect on T420/s generation and hasn't getting any better on T430/s.

i just want to make sure that the screen door effect is less prominent on T430/s than on X1 Carbon, if they all have the same vertical lines across the entire screen due to high dot pitch, i may have to look else where for my next laptop... (and i really dont know where, I get too used to thinkpads over the years and dont want to change)

The T430s screen has a less pronounced problem with screen door effect then the X1 Carbon. But T430s screen have a problem with contrast and viewing angle as compared to the X1 Carbon.

that's a little comforting, how bad is the contrast and viewing angle on T430s? i have a T500 (1680*1050) which is quite dim, the T410 screen (1440*900) was pretty satisfactory to me... on a thinkpad.
