I am still hoping that Lenovo or HP will bring out a nice workstation class 17" with a 1200p resolution. We see nowadays all kind of new releases of Lenovo but in the 17" department it seems to be very quiet.

    Does anybody know more?

16:10 is dead. M6600 and SB Elitebook 87x0W are going from 17" to 17.3" and 1920x1080p.

M6600 and M4600 are rumored to having IPS option back to Dell's lineup.

As discussed earlier, it looks like there will not be. With the W520's higher-power GPU options (as is evident from its new 170W power brick) and FHD RGB-LED display option, it has pretty much stolen the W7xx-series' thunder.

yeah, there was a roadmap posted before that had no W7xx successor. And even if there is one, it's not going to be 16:10. get 16:10 now while you can. (or buy an Apple laptop, they seem to be the last with 16:10).

I was waiting on some news on a W7xxds with Sandy Bridge as well, but for right now,the roadmap doesn't look promising. I guess I'll be searching for a good deal on a W701ds in the near future.
