sold by tigerdirect , 1 year parts and labor provided by Joy System

Lenovo ThinkPad T43 Refurbished Notebook PC - Intel Pentium M 740 1.73GHz, 802.11b/g Wireless, 1GB DDR2(2 dimms), 60GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD Combo, 14.1" XGA, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900Windows XP Home
    $449.97+ $25 shipping , no tax

comparing to cheapest brand new t 61 from lenovo.com is about $700+$58 tax, free shipping. what do you think about this t43 deal from tigerdirect. Thank you for your time.

PS. I use laptops for word, excel, access, powerpoints only, lots of excel and access. web, probably watch some dvds; probably light gaming, only play games that can be handled by mx440 level video cards.

Well, I don't know what graphics it has, but it does look like a good deal. I think I would go for that.

Although it does not appear that you will need a lot of power for the applications you run, the ability to multitask at a much faster pace would in my opinion would certainly be worth the 200... unless you are on a tight budget I would go for the T61.

It could mean that, yes. It could also mean that the box was open or never opened or returned. It could also mean that there was some damage to it that was repaired. Most companies usually specify.

Hmm...depending if they have any of these things left come tax return time, I might jump one one myself to have a second lappy to experiment with Linux and the like on.
