First three are 802.11 based WiFi

Last one gets you internet access through a cellular company such as Verizon or ATT for a monthly fee.

The 5300 will have the greatest range/strength out of the top 3 because of the 3x3 Draft-N implementations with 3 spatial streams. The 5100 is 1x2, which means 1 transmit spatial stream and 2 receive spatial streams. The 4965AGN is 2x3 with 2 spatial streams.

The last one, you meant WWAN instead? WWAN uses cellular network technologies.

No, the first 3 uses Intel chipset, the last one use Atheros chipset.
they are all Wirelss LAN, not WWAN.

Your post is confusing. All ThinkPads come with a WLAN card already which can be upgraded. Lenovo offers mobile WWAN through ATT and Verizon.

Good catch, my error -- was thinking WWAN as I read WLAN.

Nevermind. Move along. Nothing to see here. ;)
