it had home prem loaded. So I wiped it and installed my VU
going to upgrade memory
questions since the new bios my pc doctor now says 3 gb max
so did the new bios give me more room to upgrade?
I got all the device drivers installed cam and fingerprint According to device manager they both work and the cam works somewhat in skype and messenger but I can't find software that works with the reader.
and I suspect in order to install the thinkpad stuff you need justabout all of the extra software installed.
Anyone know what software works with them?
also what memory works with them as well would be great
Sorry for the somewhat dumb questions just trying to make it work and after working all night I'm kinda tired..
Thanx Alex

Ok, every sentence in your post is completely random, anyways, I can answer what I've understood:
As matter of fact, you can have 3GB Ram.
I know Thinkpad has Thinkvantage software in the manual bar, which has the fingerprint software, I assume 3000 series will have something similiar.
Most memories should compatiable with 3000 series.
Hope I've answered your questions. -
Hi,
there have been some serious, issus with the latest bios upgrade.
Your fingerprint software is most likely useless for anything other than windows login.
Tjeck the officiel forums for this.

I've also had problems with my svideo after this bios update.
I would seriously consider rolling back to your original bios.
what is your full model number? -
UPDATE
I have got my new laptop working great even got the FPR and internal cam working.
I have to say for what I paid at lot less then most got a great deal 620 out the door.
A few more questions.
with a memory upgrade is it better to do both the same IE 2X1 GB or can I mix it up 1 2GB and 1 1 GB and if I decided could I do one stick of 2 for now and another 1 later. Or do I need to fill both slots?
Also I'm using the seperate version of Omminipass and it is a bit slow Anyone have any ideas of how to speed it up a bit, making it so I do not have to hit control alt del?
When I installed my VU it was a clean install and didn't I use lenovo but for drivers and the system update program that extra load is just not needed.
It would have been nice if they made it so we could use thier software with out having to use all if the software.
The one thing I havn't been able to find yet it the monitor driver for my screen right now the VU only shows a standard LCD.
works OK but I think it should show the right panel
any ideas as to where I can get the right INF
Thanx again Alex
just got a new n3000
