just got my t61p -14.1" standard screen - fantastic!

I just received my t61p with 14.1" standard aspect sxga+ screen. I believe the notebook has the samsung lcd, although its part number was not listed in lenovo's service manual.

I'm coming from a three year old x40. from the reviews, I had confidence in t61p's build quality, speed, and features.

I had reservations about the screen quality given the many negative reviews posted on this forum and else where. I did look at some thinkpads on display at microcenter previously and found their lcd quality to be poor.

I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised! the screen has no dead pixels, no back light bleed and is very bright. in fact, it compares very favorably to my dell ips desktop monitor - as long as you're looking at it straight on. viewing angle is a bit limited, but who looks at their notebook sideways?

I will consider the limited viewing angles a nice privacy feature.

this is one great notebook. I'm very pleased.

 

I'm glad for you. I so want a T61.

 

Lucky The other possible 14.1" panel isn't so good.
