    laptop freezing on shutdown

    appreciate any help to solve problem of laptop freezing on shutdown. Lenovo C3000 200 Vista home basic. goes through log off stage and then freezes. any help please.

    Run CCleaner, Spybot: Search & Destroy, and a full anti-virus sweep.

    Most likely, you just have something clogging up Vista, and CCleaner should take care of that, but Spybot and your anti-virus software will also check for malware that could be responsible.

    You probably have adware or something is running in the background that needs to be shut down manually

    After the next freeze and restart, check your Event Viewer right away. You may get a clearer idea of just what's causing the problem.
