    Hello all
i plan to install a new hard disk as the existing 40GB disk is too small for my needs. What is the largest hard disk I can fit. IDE disks upto 320GB are being sold, but i read an old web page that says 80 GB is the max.
    Please advise...

I think the WD3200BEVE would work with no problems, generally older laptops were limited to a certain capacity, but T42's no problem.

There is a cosmetic limit in that if you go above x GB HDD it will just display the maximum capacity possible in BIOS, but it will accept any 2.5" size HDD.
