    lcd auto dimming

    is there a way to make the lcd auto dim after, lets say, 30 sec of idle? and auto undim when u move the mouse again, cause my friends macbook does this, and thats an awesome feature.

    I think this is an OS X feature only. You can make your display turn off after 1 minute in Power Manager, which would give you even more battery life.

    That is incorrect. The Power Manager does allow you to auto-dim the screen. I believe the shortest is one minute as well. You need to go to Edit the profile, and then proceed to the next page (the first page lists all the settings for CPU speed, LCD brightness, etc). The next page will give you the option to lower screen brightness and even refresh rate as well. I do not remember but I believe the screen saver also can effect it as well. You can try it out yourself - there is also an option to spin down the hard drive as well.

    i don't see it. i see 3 tabs, power plan, global power settings and battery information. and none of them allow you to edit lcd dimming. please explain, thanks!

    Along the top row above where you see your scheme name there is an Edit button to the right of it. Then just hit Next and follow the instructions I stated earlier. If you do not see these, try downloading / updating your Power Manager (there is a new version of System Update - there's a link to download it in my signature below - probably is the easiest / beneficial way).

    oh, what i did was create a new one and editted it, the other ones were grey, and couldnt click it. THANKS!!!!

    but lowest autodim seems to be 15 min... ill play with it some more
