Hi, this is a repost from the lenovo forums where I got no answer so thought I'd try a more technicially proficient crowd:

I want to play left 4 dead on my t61p. However when I try to run it I get a messagebox error saying "Failed to create D3D device!" And referring me to this url

My system is a t61p with the Quadro fx 570m running XPSP2. I am currently using the latest version of my drivers as per here

This problem existed in Vista as well but I originally put that down to vista. Evidently this is not the case.

Can someone advise me how to I can play l4d?

The solution of setting your maximum resolution in the advance launch options worked for me when I was playing the L4D demo. Quadro NVS 140m + Lenovo Drivers. Try that, it should work.
