    hi there.
i hope you guys can help as the IBM help desk as totally useless.
i have a 80gb HD and only have 16gb left on it.what i have noticed is the back ups taking place, which i was totally unaware of.

now my suspicion is that all the large files i have downloaded have been duplicated during the back ups(which i have now found how to stop) and used up my HD memory.

can some kind person please tell me how i find were the back ups are stored so i can get in there and deleted the files i need to release my HD memory.

positive point, i would buy another lenovo!!! they are bloody good laptops and my model is fully loaded.

thanks in advance for any advice.

I fairly certain this has been posted if you want to search. I don't know as usually dump R&R. If I were to guess, I would say somewhere in Documents and Settings.

Try unhiding your hidden files and look in application data or the R & R folder.

Are we talking about Rescue and Recovery or Vista's System Restore?

surprising you should ask, after all the threads i have searched through,no bugger has ever stated how to find them.

but i will say how i found out how to do it.

    click on start
    then click on all programs
    then look for lenovo care
then from the drop down menu
    choose

    rescue and recovery

    a box appears
    then in manage settings

click on optimize back up space

bingo.click away a free up your HD

    no probs

I know I have seen this before, but searching unfortunately is not an exact science.
