I do own a lenovo 3000 v200, as you might know there's 12.1" 2.0ghz core 2 duo, intel x video card with 128mb, 2gb ram, and 160gb@5400rpm hard drive. I'm user of Engenering sofware, and it performed very well by the last time, but I think its time to change, of course, I would like be back on lenovo again!!, but actually there's no options like v200 full powered notebook with small case.. It still being too weight about 4 lbs but ok, because it includes dvd writer..
What do you think about the correct opgrade from the v200?? I expect be in windows7, 64bit, 4gb ram, a powerfull processor, and a Decent video card...!

I've been thinking about the macbookpro 13 is the perfect upgrade, with a nvidia card, a 13.3" screen (what i believe is the maximum all-day carriage screen)... If only lenovo could make the same macbookpro 13, on our thinkpads!! it would be the best!!

thank you for all your replyes! and excuse my bad english, Im not English guy.

Macbook Pro 13 inch is going to be updated with i5/i7 CPU in the near future.

It just did, but it does not have the new CPU, not worth it. Get a Thinkpad X201 as it's a proper upgrade to yours. It's substantially better than the 13inch Macbook pro.

Because most people with 12" notebooks don't use them for gaming or the like. The MBP probably isn't any lighter than your V200. If you're interested in something lighter with a dedicated card, the T410s seems a better option.

It's a good option, but believeme Im very happy with screen of 12.1!, and i have my laptop in my bag every days, and I dont use games, but CAD is all about using a discrete video card in an small package. Im not considering the t410 /s series because they're 14.1, and i see them very big laptops, but thinking well the weight increase is not too much (about 1lb more than my v200). For that reason i opened this thread. I like go 1lb more for the MBP beacuse they are smalls, but i dont like MAC/os and the idea of living "in a rent" my w7 under mac os bootcamp..

The T410s probably weighs about the same as you V200, if not a little less.

wow, that would be a very good notice, now let me see options in the thinkpad 410s. This laptops comes with one of these CPUs made for better battery performance, and less performance than normal CPUs?

by-the-way did you notice that lenovo has eliminated the x201s model in their website, and theres no option on x201 for i7 ?

checked the lenovo t410s and theres no nvidia option, so why going bigger than x201 and not getting video card? not working for me!
