How does the lenovo 710 with the new i5-7Y54 with 8 gbs of memory stack up against the i5 microsoft surface pro 4 with 8 gbs of ram in terms of real world performance. Does anyone have this lappy and used it for a little bit. What is the impression of its performance? Thanks!

Here is a link to its specs: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/yoga/700-series/yoga-710-11/

Sorry I don't own either laptops but the Surface Pro 8GB model has a 15W low voltage CPU while the Lenovo has the Core M series. They are significantly different in terms of performance especially for multitasking and longer running threads.

The Core M series is generally considered to be fine for everyday simple tasks like web browsing and media consumption. For heavier content creation you would look into the Core i3/i5/i7 in the Surface Pro 4.
