anyone got anything good or bad to say about their lenovo c100 ? i dont see much about those on this forum and iam intrested in one solely for the 5hours battery life.

some people have recommended HP, but i refuse to touch them with a barge pole after the locked-down-minipci slot carry on.

I am on my 2nd C100 (first one was a review model, next was one I bought for myself). Battery life is exteremly long for a cheap laptop, pushing 4-6 hours.

Only downsides is the screen with somewhat low contrast and a it funky viewing angle, and a spacebar that doesn't like being pressed on the very edges. Other than that, mine was fine for me for a week out on the coast on the ocean in super humidity.

Also, depending on the model, you may not be getting the intel card. I got a broadcom based card in my 500 buck unit. I don't have a Atheros card to swap in, but I am guessing that one from IBM directly would work. They cost like 40 bucks or so most of the time, and sometimes I have seem them down at 29.95 on sale.

i plan on using a NON-IBM one (i hope the c100 doesnt have the lame minipci lock that ibm are used to doing! rediculous!).

dont want to pay IBM's prices for something i can get less than 1/4 of the price.

battery life + the rest sounds ideal though :). thanks
