I crashed my home basic vista. So I called and ordered recovery dis.
Interesting, the recovery dis is Ultimate. Anyway, here is my question..

Can I get 64 bits Ultimate?
Can I use the "cd key" on other thinkpad or notebook?

All discs contain all versions (home basic / premium / ultimate / etc) - but there is one disc for 32bit and one for 64bit. If your disc is 32bit you won't be able to use it to install 64bit..

Your key will work on both 32 bit or 64 bit installations if you have the correct disc - but only for the same level you currently have (home basic). To go up to ultimate you'll need to purchase a new key, or go through the anytime upgrade process.
