Unless it says so, it's probably 32 bit. I can't tell you much about it other than in general terms. It's a consumer notebook which generally isn't as well built as business class notebooks. You might want to visit the FAQ and post over. You may find a better fit.

I recently bought my son the IdeaPad y510. Overall its a nice computer for the money but could use some improvement. The screen is nice but too glossy for my tastes. The face verification system sounds great in theory but its hard to get it to work once you move into a different room with different lighting. The Dolby sound is very nice but the media control buttons are lacking as you need to hit one button to toggle between controls and sound profiles and they seem to take a second to respond when pressed.

The Vista version is described as both 64bit and 32 bit in the description so you may want to call and check. It also shows that it has integrated graphics while I though the 530's had dedicated. personally I would rather buy from Lenovo directly and would step up to a Think Pad.
