Okay so I'm looking at X220 Tablet's in Outlet, there are some that are "new" but I don't see an option to upgrade the warranty (important for me). Can "new" Outlet laptops warranty be upgraded? After browsing Lenovo Support forums....there was no clear answer from Mark@Lenovo or erik..

It is my understanding that all refurbed and scratch/dent machines are sold with a one year depot warranty, which cannot be upgraded. This also means no IWS, but I'm not sure how that applies to a new machine. It makes sense you should be upgrade a new machine, but I wouldn't be surprised if you can't. Most likely these are from canceled orders and there may be reason they don't want to let you upgrade. You might want to call sales on Monday and see what the warranty upgrade options are. They should know if you can upgrade the machine. If you find anything out, please report back so we'll know for sure.

yes, you can upgrade using post-warranty options rather than in-warranty extensions.   keep in mind that post-warranty options are more expensive than standard warranty upgrades.   outlet systems are typically priced low to counteract this.

Hrm well that will drive me away from Outlet then because Lenovo's in warranty extension is far cheaper than post warranty upgrades. I think I'll keep camping other sites to get X220 Tablet with 3 year warranty.
