new to the forums....looking to purchase a s10 in a few weeks...how beneficial would it be to run a ssd in it in terms of heat and battery life (not write speeds). has anyone here done this?

Does the S10 use a 1.8" or 2.5" HDD? I was under the impression that it only offered a 1.8" drive.

If it's 1.8" the impact of an SSD on performance will be quite large, but you have very few options (the 64GB Samsung SLC drive on Newegg is probably the best).

Take a look at the SSD link in my signature, as it shows detailed results about the change to an SSD from an HDD. My numbers are somewhat specific to a Samsung SLC SSD and a Hitachi 5k320 HDD, but the general principle should apply to most drives.

EDIT - It appears that the S10 does use a 2.5" HDD ( source), so you have considerably more options on available drives.
