I am helping a friend to do a clean install on his laptop, but have trouble accessing lenovo's support site. The pages are kinda empty and sometimes I get "There is a problem retrieving the document *****". Any ideas?

Yeah, I think site is down, I was trying to check up to see if I have all the drivers needed for the clean install but nothing is showing up on both page listed. I guess they're probably doing some kind of maintenance right now.

I have had problems getting to the site on and off over the last few weeks. Not sure what the problem is, but it is a bit annoying. I don't get errors, I just get 404 browser errors/dead air.

Site's been down for at least the last day on my end... On the support site, I randomly get either the layout, with no content, a message that says "Our apologies There is a problem retrieving the document MIGR-67853" or the screen to choose your laptop, but with no options in the drop menues... I wish there was a mirror that was available.

I have the same problem, I had to reinstall the computer because the battery had been flat and the system didn't start afterwards because of corrupt registry data.
I hope they fix the page soon, I would need the drivers to be able to work.

I KNOW this is purely coincidence, but I happen to have sent Lenovo an email about the support site being down at 9:30pm last night and then its up before 11:00pm? Could it truly be they received and read an email from a customer...or "a hope to be a customer if he ever gets his laptop"? :D

i called a number of times during the day, and I got the wonderful "Call center in Atlanta, Georgia" (who knew there was an Atlanta, Georgia in India too!?!?"... They didn't seem to even bother looking into it. They always said "try again in a few hours, it's probably just maintenance." Does this so often that they can parrot off an answer like that?

IBM did website maintenance on the weekends for years. It's not new or unusual for Lenovo to do the same.

What kind of webmasters/IT people can't manage a site without taking the whole thing down!? :-O
