Does anyone know if this is likely to be released soon/this year? It looks like one of the best tablets with a digitizer, but i'd rather wait for one with tegra 3 and a higher res screen if it's around the corner.

I also wonder if the next version will run Android Jellybean or Windows Arm; a dual boot would be best but i've read Microsoft is forbidding this. In a way maybe Windows would make more sense for a 'business' tablet, but i hope it will boot android as there are certain apps for it that won't have a windows equivalent for a long time.

A Windows based model would make it really nice. None of the apps I found for the digitizer were any good for notes. At least not after using OneNote for so many years. The Windows model will allow OneNote and that alone would sell me on it.

notes aren't too important for me, just sketching, and there's one app i definitely need android for so i've just ordered the current model since there was one for under £320 on amazon.

I like the look of the Thinkpad tablet. I like its aspect ratio and bright, matt display. The N-Trig digitizer is less than ideal, particularly for an artist. After using one for nearly a year-and-a-half, I find that the N-Trig pen is fragile and degrades over time. I would prefer a Wacom digitizer. The 10" Samsung Galaxy Note with Wacom S-pen might be a better artists device.

Once the Thinkpad Tablet, or any slate, can replicate the X220T inking experience for me with wacom active digitizer and windows/onenote then I will consider buying. Until then android and ipad just won't do.

*for under $1000*...there are already some out there like a Samsung and Asus Windows slate. Way too pricy though. :\
