I am tight on money right now. I am planning on getting the laptop now and get a extension warranty down the road. How much does the 3 year warranty extension usually cost after you get your system. I am looking at the y460 by the way.

The limit is 2 years and the cost is approximately $300.00.

    Thanks.

That's a lot if I compare it to cost of warranty when I purchase the laptop. I can get 2 years basic warranty for $100.

Do you know if the warranty cover battery wear?

you should call lenovo to ask. depending on the kind of service you want, but depot (basic) should be cheap.
and no, that extension does not cover battery wear for the extended period, i believe.

Call them up and they offer more warranties then they show on the site(For the X201 at least not sure if its the same for that laptop). They quoted me for $120 for a 3 year basic warranty I plan on adding later on.

I talked to someone in their live chat and they assured me I would be able to get the warranty for the same price no matter when I bought it. You might want to call and double check to be safe though.
