has anyone experienced the wireless for the x60s connecting, but then dropping just a few minutes later? Sometimes simply turning the wireless on and off will fix it temporarily, but it's not a permanent solution. The wireless, in general, is not consistent and I have difficulty connecting to any wireless signals. I don't know if it's a hardware problem, or a software problem. I try using the Thinkpad wireless connection software, but then sometimes I switch to to the Windows Wireless manager. Regardless, I still get very bad connections.

The wireless card is a 11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN mini-PCI express adapter.

    Thanks.

Did you try moving your thinkpad to another location? Are you connecting to your own wireless router/AP? If so try changing the channel (default is usually 6). Is the wireless adapter Intel or Atheos (I don't recall x60s comes with N adapters but I may be mistaken)? Update the drivers from the manufacturer's web page (not through lenovo) and see if that helps.

Try to provide more info on your network setup so that people can help. Or you can ask around in the Networking and Wireless forum.

Mine is fine. The reception isn't as good as my previous laptop (same wireless card 3945), but once you are connected, it works all right.

I have had this problem I had to move my laptop to another room. The reason it was happining to me was because I was getting interference from a cordless phone

That's some good advice. I didn't have any problems with the X61s I was using. What did support have to say?

Thanks for your answers. I use my thinkpad in multiple places connecting to different wireless sources (wireless router at home, wireless at school, wireless at work, etc) and it seems to be pretty poor at all locations. If cordless phones can interfere, maybe that is the problem.

Also, the thing that confuses me the most is that when I try to connect to my (WPA-PSK encrypted) wireless router, the ThinkPad wireless status windows shows good progress for about 50%. I think there are 3 steps. It gets through the "applying wireless settings" step ok. However, the next steps "waiting for IP configuration" and "renewing IP address" always hang and eventually fail. Does that give any clues?

This happened to my T60 all the time. The connection was lost frequently, but a Toshiba with same wireless card in the same place worked perfectly. Tried everything to no avail.

I have 2 R60's that will connect to our wireless through windows with no problems but when trying with any of the lenovo software (access connections etc) I get a message that tells me that no wireless adapters are installed
Tried updating both the wireless drivers and access connections but no go. These laptops have to travel to different locations so getting this working would be good
    Thanks for any ideas
