    hi everyone, i recently bought a t61p. i miss the use of lightscribe since using the 8510w so i wanted to know if any if anyone could recommend a drive that supports lightscribe while using DL aswell. any help grateful.

    It's going to have to be an external since there's no 9.5mm drive supporting lightscribe I'm aware exists.

    Hmm. How is it that you can buy HP notebooks with an internal LightScribe drive?

    Lightscribe is an HP technology. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is only available on drives made by HP. HP does not produce drives for lenovo thinkpads ergo no lightscribe for thinkpad. It is correct that there are internal laptop drives with lightscribe, but I have only ever seen them in HP notebooks.

    You're wrong. Lightscribe is available on other notebooks. While there's no internal lightscribe drives offered on ThinkPads, I believe there's an external one offered.
