    Hi,
There are a few questions that I need some help with about ultrabay and linux.

    1. ultrabay hdd, for the T60, do I order an ultrabay adaptor from lenovo which would take ANY laptop harddrive, so then I could order a small and cheap one from 3rd party vendor?

    2. The reason for doing this is that I would like to buy a sec harddrive (small) and dedicated that to the linux, which I am learning (linux nub here) is it possible to boot off ultrabay hdd? I would like to keep my main windows hdd the way it is, but pop in linux drive when I am playing around at home. I dont like to partition for a dual boot off my main drive. I am just learning linux and I dont want to break things.

never had a thinkpad before so I would assume to do that I would change the boot sequence through bios to that of the ultrabay harddrive?

If it works that way, then I would have a small harddrive to play aroudn with different os whenever I find something intereting without messing with my school/work harddrive

    thanks

It should work. No need to change boot sequence. Just enable Boot Device List Option, also through the BIOS. You can then press F12 at boot time to select which device to boot on.

Of course you then have to use a usb cd drive in that case.. SUSE and Ubunte have great hardware detection, so no problem using using such.
Personally, I would prefer a usb harddisk and install linux there than use an ultrabay hd. If ever i'll use ultrabay, i'll use it for dvdrw drive or extra battery, not for hd.
