    help me.

I live in a forest and can only charge once a day at a mains power supply. Im chasing a laptop of any sort that can play mid to range games with the longest battery life whilst playing games.

I was leaning towards the lenovo t540p (in australia) as it has enourmous battery life but not the best graphics card (gt730m). However no matter how much research i do or calls i make it seems nobody knows how long any a battery will run whilst playing games.

Im not looking for anything over 15" nor does it matter about screen resolution. I will be operating it with wifi off and anything else that consumes the battery.

May i ask if you have any suggestions from any model that you know may work.

    very grateful

You are on a good track with notebook. Best/safest course of action is to look for any notebook that has ability to add battery slice. Maybe M4800 with K1100M and 97w battery and battery slice could do it for you, it would have a liitle more umph.

Or lenovo you found with added extra battery.

In any case dont opt for screens bigger than FHD, if you are looking for most battery life take HD screen and Dual Core i5 cpu and make sure you install aftermarket SSD.

Games that can run on integrated hd4600 you should run on that and only more demanding should be ran on dedicated gpu.

With most dedicated graphics, you're looking at around 2 hours maximum game time on battery. The more powerful the graphics card or the smaller the battery capacity, the less time available. Some systems can only last 30 minutes gaming on battery.

Adding a battery slice would double the maximum game time to around 4 hours.

Can you give an example of the games you are planning on playing? My X240 with 3 + 3cell batteries seems to get around 3 hours of playing non-graphically intensive games like Rimworld and Ultimate Generals. With the 6 cell I reckon you could push it out to 5, maybe even 6 hours. I will try to get some better numbers for you on my next trip. Bearing in mind the X240 only has integrated HD4400...

Having your laptop battery running a full charge/discharge (under load) cycle each day will wear it pretty fast.

Could you buy an external UPS like an APC ( www.apc.com) and load it before you go into the woods with you.

They are pretty heavy and could be expensive depending on the Wattage but then your running time will be limited only by the amount of money yo spend and the weight.

You can go to www.apc.com and configure ~50w x n hous -> select product.
