    Hi,

from what I have been reading the mini-DisplayPort chipset in newer ThinkPads does not support (proper) audio pass-through. Are all T/W/X models affected by this or are there models where the audio pass-through works properly? In particular, I am interested in bitstreaming lossless HD audio via HDMI converter to AVR. Is there any chance that we are going to see HDMI port in upcoming T/W/X ThinkPads?

All ThinkPads since the T410 have audio pass-through over DP/mDP.

Besides, the biggest and most expensive new Dock, the ThinkPad Ultra Dock, will feature one 1.4 HDMI port.

If you want HDMI directly on the notebook itself, than you have to get an Edge or an ThinkPad S (like the S531 for example).

I can confirm from personal experience that the mini DisplayPort on my W530 carries both video and audio signal.
