Will my laptop boot faster from a mSATA (intel 310) than from a SDD? Or this depends on the SDD? Thanks for the feed-back.

The 80gb 310 and it's performance is very similar to the 80gb X25-M as that's what it's based on. If the reviews of the 310 don't evaluate boot performance, look at reviews of the the 80gb X25-M.

People here seem to expect way too much from mSATA. It is merely an SSD in a different location. Nothing is special about it, except for the flexibility you get.

Agree. I have Intel X-25M G2 160GB drives in my desktop systems. Boot-up on this system (Intel Q9450 quad-core overclocked to 3.2Ghz, 6GB RAM, nVidia GTX 260 OC) into Windows 7 is on the order of a few seconds. It's lightening fast. I also have a laptops with the Intel SSD but I didn't see as much of a benefit as the desktops. Your mileage may vary but I'd take an SSD over an HDD any day.
