I have an X220 and I have installed the mSata SSD in it. Now I am trying to install Windows 7 on it with the Recovery disc made before I put the mSata SSD in. The process goes well until on the 3rd disc, about 30% left I get stuck at "processing cdrivebackup.swm..." and then get an iuimagex error; "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source."

I've tried atleast 4 times now, have made 3 sets of discs and still same thing happens. Don't know what to do now. Help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would either attempt a clean install or contact Lenovo about the issue and ask them to send you another set of recovery disks.

Have you tried reinstalling the OS on a known good drive to rule out possible a bad mSATA SSD?

I don't think its a bad mSata SSD. I still have the factory hard drive with the OS on it and booting from that it detects and sees the mSata SSD, and it has the similar partition structure as the factory drive, I see a Windows7_OS, Lenovo_Recovery and a SYSTEM_DRV. Those are on the mSata SSD after getting the error I mentioned in my first post, so I don't think its the mSata SSD.

The problem is not with the mSATA SSD.

That "digital signature" problem with Lenovo Recovery discs is rare, but is known to have happened.

Call Lenovo, tell them about the problem, and ask them to send you a factory set of Recovery discs. Sometimes, the user receives the new set within 24 hours.

Tomorrow is Friday. If I were you, I would spend some time this weekend to do a Clean Install. (Copy the C:\SWTOOLS folder to a USB flash drive for ease of driver installs.) You may not need the Lenovo discs early next week! :)

Well, finally got it working and I probably should have mentioned it in my first post. But I can't believe it was actually the culprit. When I got the unit I also upgraded the ram from 4gb to 8gb of G.Skill ram. Switching back to the ram that came with the unit allowed me to install and now works fine with the SSD. Did not know changing the ram would effect the process.
