Well it's usually 3 DVDs so ~14 GB total (I believe the 3rd disk isn't full). So, at 14 gigs, using 700MB discs, you are in for about 20 disks.

PS: buy DVDs next time :)

Oh boy. It should be 1 CD (boot) + up to 3 DVDs (data).

All these years, I wish Lenovo had slipped a note between the display and the keyboard to tell the user about creating Recovery discs.

lol. You know that you can only create the recovery disc once, right?

What I do is when I get a fresh new system, I make a Ghost image of the whole hdd first. Then I install virtual drive which let's me insert virtual blank dvds, and burn into a iso file. Then I store those iso files in my external hdd. After that, I wipe everything out.

That must be really painful to burn everything on a CD.

hp79, I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to this, so I only understand half of what you said... and I wasn't even aware of creating it only once.

Now I'm on disc 23, something doesnt feel right. 15 gb is less than 700 mb x 22.

btw, if anyone is wondering how much it took, it took 25 cds, 700mb each. four hours long. if you're smart, you do what other people said in this topic or use DVDs....

    Sigh.

I repeat: How much does it cost Lenovo to slip a freaking note on "Creating Recovery Discs" in between the keyboard and the display when a notebook is built? Or, just print something on the freaking packing box (on the top flaps where the new owner slits the tape).

Because the generic name of the software, it's very hard to find.
    But here it is.

    Virtual CD

I know, even the website looks sketchy, but it does what it says. I only use this software as a 30 days trialware to create ISO files with a virtual DVD burner, and this is the only program I know that has this feature. Daemon tools, imgburn, nero, ashampoo none of them has this feature.
