    So, on a T61p, the following is true?
    XP pro max accessible RAM ~ 3.2 GB?
    vista 64 max accessible RAM = 4GB ?

    edit:
    so i found on XP that max is ~2 gigs for apps, so if u have more then thats only useful for the os

    Right, Right, edit wrong. It uses the RAM for whatevr it wants/needs to.

    Yep you are right only 2 gigs for apps
