    hi,
    i upgraded system ram 1 gb to 3 gb..
    pc-doctor 5 confirmed 3 gb but reports that "maximum supported memory is 2 gb".. installed system is xp professional and i edited "page.ini" file according to microsoft suggestions..

    How much memory is Windows XP seeing (right click My Computer->Properties)?

    XPpro SP2 installed.. windows seeing 3 gb..
    also bios is: LENOVO 7OETB0WW (2.10 ) 01/21/2008 if it useful..

    I suspect that is just a misleading PC Doctor message. If Windows XP is seeing your full 3GB, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If it is an R60 (looks like it), then the hardware is specified 4GB max.

    I just checked an X41 I have here. It has 1.5GB of memory. Windows XP reports 1.5GB. PC Doctor says Maximum Supported Memory 1GB. That's nonsense. This is a PC Doctor oddity.

    I just had a thought. Maybe that PC Doctor message is just really badly worded. Perhaps it just means "Maximum Supported Memory CARD SIZE". That would fit the facts.

    cista 32 bit recognizes up to 2gb. 64bit recognizes up to 4 gigs
