Guys something is bothering me. I ordered a 15.4 R61. I want to make sure it has a media card reader. Only thing i can find on lenovo's site is this:
    http://shop.lenovo.com/us/notebooks/thinkpad/r-series

Which says the feature is "optional". When i built my notebook there wasn't anything i could choose for a media card option. I did call today and the lady said it had it...but you know how the people on the phone can just tell you what you want to hear so you will leave them alone. Does anyone know forsure if it includes the option? Can anyone validate this? I'm going to be upset if i get it and it doesn't have this option. I could have chosen an option for Smart Card Reader but of course this is not the same thing.

    Here is what i ordered:
Here are the specs of my notebook and what i got it for:
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T8300 (2.4GHz 800MHz 3MBL2)[1]
    Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic[12]
    15.4" WSXGA+,Camera,BT(bluetooth)
    Intel GMA X3100, GM965, 1394, S-Video, PC Card/PCIe
    2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)[8]
    UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
    160GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm[4]
DVD Recordable 8x Max Ultrabay Enhanced[5]
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (supporting Centrino Pro)[10]
    Integrated Bluetooth PAN
    9 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]
    8932: 1Year Express Warranty

    Subtotal: $ 910.99
    Shipping and handling: $ 0.00
    Estimated tax: $ 56.94
    [USPSAVEMORE] -$ 160.76
    Savings: -$ 518.01
    Estimated total: $ 967.93*

I also heard the 15.4 aren't built as well as the 14''...is this true?

    thanks,
    Ncage

It's standard on the 15.4" R61. You can find various pictures on Lenovo's own site showing the card reader at the front of the notebook.

As for the build, it's by no means crappy, but the 15.4" R61 differs from the 14.1" mainly in that it lacks the roll cage in the LCD and features different plastic (ABS).

you guys are great :). Sorry I've been asking so many questions but a labtop is a big purchase and you just don't want to make any mistakes.
