    hey guys,

i installed another 2gb of ram that i purchased making it a total of 4gb. now there is an issue with the T500 and its not letting me see more than 2.5GB in the task manager. i have already posted about it here so you can take a look.

now im posting because i think i will try and upgrade to vista business 64 and i need your opinions on what is the best way to do this... is there any way i can actually go through lenovo and get that done?? and im also at a university so i get vista for like $25 but i dont know what version it is.

Make sure there is support for that. I also wanted to purchase 4 GB OCZ for my U6 to replace the 3 GB I have. I have Business 64 someplace in my Software library and I think my current 32 bit license will work but Asus has no drivers on their site for this system. Is lenovo any different?

I have Vista 32 for the moment ;).

What he was saying is make sure that there is 64bit driver support for your system. There definitely is for a T500.

I was not talking about the chipset or pocessor. I was talking about what the previous poster was saying...driver support for everything else.

I am running Vista Business x64 on my T400.
The 2.5 gig is 3 gig (vista limit) minus the dedicated graphics. yes, it's ridiculous, since mine only has 256MB, not ~500. If you disable dedicated graphics from the bios, you'll be able to see the 3 gig.
the only way you'll get close to 4gig with vista 32bit is by using a ramdisk. search this forum for that.

Also, your 32-bit license is good for 64bit as long as it's the same version, business to business, etc.
