My x61s finally arrived and I noticed in the add/remove program listing sql server 2005 is installed.
Is it part of office 2007 small business or bonus software?

It might be the express edition of SQL Server, which is used by some programs to store data. I don't think this is usually installed by Office 2007 though. It's probably safe to remove if you can determine what program is using it.

    Thanks gerryf19.
Newbies, not knowing wtf they are talkng about, should try not to recommend removing programs. Someone here might be dumb enough to follow your ill advised advice.

watchtower7, if you are directing your comments to me I would suggest you calm down and re-read what was actually said before blowing up. SQL Server 2005 is *not* part of Office 2007. I did not recommend you remove it without first determining what is dependent on it.

I removed it and the demo of Office 2007, its a HUGE install. Freed up over a gig of space if I recall right. Then you download OpenOffice, and it takes 90 Megs and you are happy! Assuming you don't need some of the perks of MS Office.
