I've started watching 1080p video on my trusty T61, but the 2 ghz C2D can't decode the video without some lag. I know the nvs 140m supports h264 decode, but only drivers 180+ allow that. I got the most recent driver from Lenovo, but it is 178.74 or something. The download directly from nVidia says there are no supported cards in my system. Are there more recent drivers available, or do I have to wait for Lenovo's blessing in a year? Also, has anyone had any luck wiht h264 decode on the nvs 140m gpu?

your Core 2 Duo ought to do fine with that, even with your current drivers.

What are you using to play back the video? Do you have any codecs installed other than Windows default? Also, what applications are running in the background?

P.S. Have you defragged your hard drive lately? If the video is heavily fragmented, it could also cause issues.

Speaking of the the Forceware drivers. Its quite a shame that we are not able to use newer and updated drivers directly from Nvidia. I guess its has to be Lenovo Dock issue again that is preventing this.

Just wondering, has anyone found a way to force the Forceware Installer from Nvidia to install on a ThinkPad and will it have problems (Memory Buffering or other issues)?
