Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before: whenever I try to play a DVD or a movie file on the TV via S-video port, it comes out black, no image... I can see everything else though - the ThinkPad screen and even the player app, but the actual space where the movie plays is blackish-purple. This is all while it happily plays on the LCD screen... I'm a bit baffled by this. My guess is this has to do with the graphics drivers, but I'm not sure... Thanks for any insights! :)

    P.S. I have a recent T43 with SXGA, X300.

this is actually done on purpose. Try to just enable viewing on the external screen (ie your TV), and have no signal on your LCD. I think it is just that you cannot view a dvd or any video on 2 screens at once.

Yeah, I noticed it too. Now, the question is - why? What prevents it from being possible (or desirable)?
