I plugged in my laptop to an external screen and the NVIDIA control panel asked me to do the setup thing in the beggining. By accidently I skipped the step and now I cant the option to set this up.

If you open the nVidia control panel you will still be able to configure the screens however you want.

You could just unplug the screen and plug it back in...just figure it out.

I can't find the setting to switch where I move my mouse to, to go to the other screen. If I uninstall-reinstall my drivers will everything go back to default?

I can't do that. Too long, can I uninstall and re-install drivers?

What do you mean you can't do that...and, yes, just try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers if you want.

Just try out playing with settings/drivers. And what does the windows display properties indicate? And actually I don't even know what your issue is. You didn't "setup" the monitors? What do you need to setup? You just set the resolution and whether you're extended it or using it as a mirrored display, etc.

When I plug in my monitor for the first time on my laptop it prompts a screen that sets you up with dual monitors. It's screwed up now, so I want to go back to where that screen shows up.

Well again what is the issue? What does windows display properties say...what is displaying? etc. You aren't really providing too many details on the actual behavior you're experiencing other than you didn't setup when asked.

I want to find the setting to choose where your external screen is located. Right now if I move my cursor to the right, the cursor will go to the external display. I had it before to move my cursor to the left. How do I go about achieving this?

    Right click desktop > personalize
    Click "display settings"
You should see your two displays marked as "1" and "2"
Click and drag display 2 from the right side of display 1 to the left side.
    Click apply.

    Done.

    Click "Identify"
Describe current monitor locations (both in that Window, and physically)

    For example:
    In Windows:
    2 1
    Physically:
    1 2

Why do you need to use the nVidia control panel? They will both do the same thing...

I really prefer using Windows' native tools for things when possible, it's usually more intuitive.

I also won't be able to tell you really, as nVidia changes their control panel ALL THE TIME. I haven't used it in ages and chances are, we don't have the same version installed.

What does grain look like and how do I know if my screen is experiencing it?

Usually if it's usable, all text is readable, picture quality is fine, then you don't have grain. The fact that you said it's brighter and clearer tells me you don't have grain at all.

It's for sure brighter. Text is readable and pictures look up to par. It just looks to my eye a bit "frosty". Any ideas on this?

I don't know what that means. Do you have the resolution set properly? That can cause a "frosty" look.
Also if your background picture is not your LCD's native res it can look a bit "frosty" I suppose as well.

Yes, everything is set to the proper resolution. The frost is on all Windows I suppose. It sort of looks just like fuzzyness. I really am not sure but I am worried.

I looked at some pictures of grainy LCD's and it doesn't look that bad.. It just doesn't look "sharp" per say. I looked at a T60 and it does not look grainy.

Everything is clear on this laptop. It's bright, good color quality. Just seems a bit "fuzzy".

Truth be told, it's probably primarily in your head.
I can tell from your posting on NBR that you're a worrier. Don't worry, it's almost definitely fine :)

I am not sure though. It seems very sparkly and some comparisions make me think my screen is grainy. Do you have a WXGA+ screen? If so can you take pictures of the screen and upload them.

I have an SXGA+ screen on both of my laptops, they're before "widescreen times."
Different manufacturers will look different anyway, it's not a fair comparison.

Can I have a screen shot though. Maybe I can see if they are similar. Thanks.
