Its weird, I don't know what I've touched, but it seems that my processor's multiplier has been locked at lowest setting of 6 and running at half the designed speed (T7500 2.2GHz).
Regardless of chaging the status of speedsetp in bios or in windows 7, or the power settings to Max Performance, the frequency just won't go backup to 2.2GHz and keeps running at 1.2GHz.
When I first got the laptop, it was running fine, and I get a normal Windows Assessment Index of 5+, now the highest I get on processor is only 3.2, this is horrible, could someone please tell me what I did wrong to my system?
Much appriciated.

What are your temps?
Have you tried using RMclock to set the multi to 11x or maybe try crystalCPUID. -
I tried to run 3D games in a window and test the CPU use Rightmark Lite, nothing changes multiplier back to normal.
Real Temp shows CPU Temp at 42.C
GPU Temp at 52.C
I even did a re-install of the OS and reset all bios settings to defult, so far nothing helped to bring the frequency back to normal -

BIOS update?
-
OK...
Problem solved! It seems the problem lies with "Intel Speedstep" setting that I changed couple hours ago in BIOS. When Disabled, it says, "the CPU will always run at lowest speed"
I changed it back to Automatic, now it adjusts speed based on load demand.
Whew big relief, thx for all your help. -

Now it's time to overclock your T7500.
-
i don't think it is wise to overclock the T61 with the Nvidia GPU.
