I could have sworn someone posted almost the same exact question yesterday or the day before.

45 C is normal. By undervolting my idle temperatures went from about 42 to 35-38 C.

Battery life has improved as well.

Depends on your ambient temperature. In Arizona during summer with no AC on? Quite good temperature. Outdoors in Alaska? Maybe not.

Also depends on whether you are running on the discrete or integrated graphics - the CPU runs about 5 degrees cooler on idle when using integrated graphics on my T500. My idle temperature right now is 31-34 degrees.

I'm inclined to agree. My x200 Tablet idles at 36.4c and I have a low voltage CPU.

45c is a little high, but I wouldn't worry about it. The main issue would be temperature at load, not idle. I still think you're fine though.

LOL!!! I keep my thermostat around 24c. I've ran orthos for 12 hours with no errors, BSOD and stable temperatures on all multipliers. Maybe something is wrong with my computer

The Hardware Monitor program gives lower readings than the other 2 programs I am using.

What are the THM0 and THM1 temps on the Hardware Monitor program?
Those temps look similar to the other 2 programs.

You were right. Using Core Temp I get around 24-29 depending on the core.

There's a difference, Core temp versus CPU temp. Although I've no idea how many degrees cooler the new P series compare against the 45nm 'old' Santa Rosa Penryns like my T8100.
