What are the temps (HDD or CPU) ??
    Monitor using HWMonitor or RMClock.

Also try Undervolting, it'll help you drop the max power consumption and reduce CPU temps.

42C idle is pretty low already so no problem there. On load it can go as high as 70+ which is still within specs. Now if you're running 3d apps that will push the gpu temps and everything else higher. GPU temps of 80 or low 80s is about the highest I've seen but the norm is around 70-75 for the GPU on load. I would only worry if it started hitting 90+ and climbing.
