    my card reader is not working

    when i insert an SD card in my card reader the green light turns on for only a second and then turns off. after that it does not show up anywhere in my computer.



    does this have something to do with the "base system device" driver not found in my device manager?

    That's exactly what it is. You can download the drivers from lenovo's website, or download them via lenovo think vantage system update, or possibly have them included in windows update. Either way, install them.
