My t60 has a tiny white spot (about 3x3 pixels) - not from misuse or anything like that. it's not a dead pixel, nor is it a stuck pixel. it seems to be from behind the screen.
I called Lenovo (I have the 3-year on-site) and they are replacing it without any hassle at all. The representative on the phone confirmed that it was not a dead/stuck pixel.... he placed the order for a new screen right away. I'm expecting them to call me early next week to have someone come to my house and fix it in front of me by the end of next week.
so far, my dealings with CS / Warranty (in Atlanta) have being great. I'll keep you posted on how this turns out.
I wonder if I just got a sympathetic CSR or if they are more willing to work with customers that have higher-end warranties?

I have had WONDERFUL service with Lenovo, and the old IBM.

update:
Lenovo called me early this week - the new screen had arrived and was given to the "mobile" tech. This was only a few days (including the weekend) after I placed a service call.
The tech personally called my to set up an appointment. He worked around my schedule and we scheduled for him to come today at a good time.
He was here punctually with the correct part. He replaced the screen with no problems and was very nice. We even chit chatted about the dumb things he has seen and why the t61 has so many problems. he also offered that if the new screen had any dead/stuck pixels, he would call for a new screen right away.
well, he replaced the screen (remember, this was to fix a 3x3 pixel "water spot" as he called it). he didn't have replacement stickers (used the old ones) for the screw covers but told me i could call for a new packet and they would send me them right away.
this repair didn't cost me a dime and was completed in under seven days - including the amount of time i couldn't make an appointment with them. So far, I am very happy with the 9x5 on-site service - I do not know how they could have been more helpful.
The new screen (samsung as before - no big deal on my t60 14.1" XGA) is flawless - no scratches, dead pixels, stuck pixels, or water marks. The fit and finish is just about as good as it was out of the box (a couple of little tape pieces could have held the screen in better, but they lost their stickiness).
Thanks for reading. Just felt that after all the negative Lenovo CS reports I read everyday on this site, I would share my experiences.
my experience with lenovo warranty (so far so good)
