Does the laptop turn on with the battery in? If so maybe your charge is dead.

    Here is an old trick:

    - turn off your T61, unplug the power supply and remove the battery
    - press 10 times the power button about every second
    - press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds
    - plug in the power supply without battery and turn on the machine

    Does it now boot again?

Do you get the power plug lit up on your laptop? I would try:

    - Testing your AC adapter with a multimeter
    - Using a known good 65/90 watt Lenovo AC adapter
    - Removing the battery and trying to power it on with AC adapter plugged in
    - Removing battery and AC adapter, holding down the power button for 30 seconds 2-3 times

After all that, your motherboard maybe experiencing power circuitry issues.
