IMHO it is one of the numerous background programs or services that come preloaded with your laptop - and that are configured by default to do all kinds of things without your explicit intervention. For example:

    • Lenovo System Update (scheduler enabled to 2:00AM by default - download and install)
    • Windows Vista Update (3:00 AM - download and install)
    • Symantec Anti Virus
    • Windows Defender
    • Google Desktop
    • Filesystem Indexer
    • Etc. Etc.
The above is only a partial list.

    HTH,
    Daniel

Did you do a clean install of the OS or do you still have all the programs and bloatware that came with it
