    Hi guys, i have a lenovo y570 laptop, core i5 2410m, 1g Nvidia 555m, 4g ram.

after several fixes i managed to get battlefield 3 singleplayer working, but i only get 5-15 fps?

i've seen posts by other lenovo owners with similar specs who get ~40 fps on medium settings.

it doesn't seem to matter what level of settings I use, my fps is consistently low, although ultra does run slightly slower than low.

    any suggestions?

Perhaps your power management is locked to low performance/battery mode.

It's unclear to me whether the Y570 has Optimus graphics. If so, make sure that the Nvidia GPU is getting used for that game by making the appropriate setting in the Nvidia control panel.

i have the y470 with 1 gb 550m core i5 and i am averaging 28-32 fps with recommended settings (which is medium and some high settings mixed)...

the 570 has optimus and it is a bigger version of the y470 and with a better gpu

make sure your switch is on (which is the little silver button in the front of your laptop, an led turns on with it's on) and you have the proper drivers for your 570..

Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers i dont know if the 555m and 550 share the same drivers).

make sure your power management is on high performance instead of energy star.

and also make sure to click the fan managing button and make sure it's set on cool (it is the crescent moon soft touch button above the keyboard)..

I get about 30 fps as well on the Y570 - definitely something with your setup, not the system specs in general.

However, I do get a regular freezing problem where the video/audio stop responding. I have to use task manager or Alt-tab out of it and kill the process manually. It was sporadic until the Thunder Run mission where now it dies every time somewhere on the highway heading towards the bridge. I've tried everything I know and still get the freezing. Not sure if it's related to your problem, but maybe we have similar cause(s)...

i haven't the issue before but whenever i try to change the volume (or any of the soft touch buttons), the game gets out of fullscreen, so i run it in windowed mode...try that and see if that helps..

i have finished playing bt3 and never had problems on my y470. not sure about fps, never checked that out, but game never lagged, i turned off all AA, but i believe had everything else on high. the max temp was 86, but usually stayed in high 70's. like others said, make sure batery is on high performance, optimus light is on, and in nvidia control panel, add bt3.exe and check that nvidia gpu is selected, not integrated.

I've played more then 100 hours of BF3 on my y570 with i3. FPS is 35-40
    1. Make sure you have drivers updated
    2. Make sure bf3 runs on GT555, not nvidia.
    3. Use recommended settings.

    Worked for me.

Make sure optimus switch is turned on on front of laptop. You should see a white light. Take it off energey star and select high performance under power settings. That should be all you need to do. Also update driver to 285.62 from nvidia website.
