I just notice that my mSATA ssd write speed decreased a lot (from 130M to 60M, 1 fill) on my X220 after 1 week use, which is tested by crystaldiskmark. Anyone got any ideas?

Expect lower speeds with use. 50 %? I don't whether that nominal or not.

I just did a refresh to try to obtain some parameters.

"as we all know speed will drop off sharply and a total erase and reinstall will be required "

This just popped up on NewEgg.

I have heard similar complaints before. Maybe that's the reason why people buy from Intel?

I understand that they will all slow down. What im thinking about is disk compression on a system disk which will change only a tiny amount.

Mine is half full - 6.9 WEI score. Same as when I first installed it.

    Copying a 4GB ISO from my C300 to the MyDigitalSSD - 90-100MB/s
    Copying it back - 140MB/s

Kind of slow for an SSD but I bought it for reliability in my laptop more than speed. HDDs, even with sensors, are easily damaged from movement or vibrations and my laptops take a beating.

EDIT: My MydigitalSSD is 128GB, my C300 is 256GB.

I ran across a review of mSATA SSD by Nando, and it described exactly the same problem with this. I hope it helps to at least pointing you some ideas and possible solutions.

A certain amount of fetch time loss is normal for the technology.

It depends on the SSD. Some, like the Intel and Samsung drives, do a much better job of background garbage collection, allowing them to retain most of their performance even on an OS without TRIM support.

How about Crucial and the new M3's? Crucial is selling a transfer kit also. I trust Crucial. NewEgg does not carry the 256 Gb disks.
